Our Neighbourhood on Fairchild TV

Hello Family and Friends:

Our neighbourhood was on Fairchild TV recently because neighbours have been meeting for six years once a month at an event called, "Neighbour's Night Out". In addition to this informal event, neighbours frequently help each other.

Fairchild TV found the original story about our event and community in the Toronto Star and decided to do a special program about this concept for their "Timeline Magazine". Here is the link to that Toronto Star article:

Although this is Chinese TV, it is fairly easy to understand the story line. It focuses on our neighbours meeting once and month, moves to how we help each other and then links that story to Neighbourhood Watch and the city's Neighbour's Night Out program.

The heartbeat of this show is to encourage communities to get to know their neighbours. We know this is not an easy task for hyper busy 21st century families, but it is not impossible.
